If I could rid myself of all social aspects, what would I become? Take away all of the social pressures of education, status, wealth, and the things that run our lives in the wrong direction, what would I become? If I got back to me and what I wanted I would love to become…….
I think that there are many answers to this question depending on who you talk to. Life is meant to be ever-changing so why is it we ask our young generation to know what they want between 18-21 so that they can finish college and get a good job. Some of our greatest leaders in business dropped out of formal school and created their own worlds in what they were passionate about. Thomas Edison only had three months of formal schooling. He was home schooled by his mother and got much of his education from reading books he enjoyed. He holds 1,093 U.S. patents, not to mention the ones he holds from United Kingdom, France, and Germany. He is one of our greatest American inventors. Bill Gates and Paul Allen who founded Microsoft were both college dropouts. Their market cap in Microsoft has reached $226.2 billion. Richard Branson that founded Virgin Group never finished high school. Company worth is $18 billion. I could go on with many more and you could find many if you researched, but I am trying to make a point here as you can see. I am not at all telling people to drop out of school but I am saying that when you find a passion, and you follow that passion, you are led down the road to success and not having to build that road yourself!
The ones I mentioned, and many more I have not, all followed their passion. They may not have had a formal education but they all were well-educated. Education in the general sense is any act or experience that has a formative effect on the mind, character, or physical ability of an individual. The road they chose was opened by an idea that they had. It was formed first with imagination and then rose up from desire. We all have this in us when we are born into this physical world.
Allow me to let you ponder something. When you were conceived as a human; did you ever have to learn how to make your heart beat? No, it was started for us by something larger than we can imagine. It is the center point for all bodies and allows us to stay alive here on earth and we think nothing about it day after day. We assume that it is doing fine and we all go on with life. What if you can do this with your passions in your life. Find something that you are passionate about, assume that it will all work out, and then start moving your thoughts and actions towards that passion. The little how to’s, when, expense, how hard and all the other excuses that we use to keep us from these can be put out of the mind because we don’t have to worry about them. They will be started when we need them by something larger than us if we put those things aside, assume they will work out, and continue to move forward to that passion.
Passion is the key that I am trying to get you to explore. A passion for something can lead us in many different directions. They allow things to come into our paths that we would not normally predict. Your actions to this passion are key in what moves through your life after that. There are many great men and women that are leaders of our generation, in many different ways, that were told countless times that what they were doing wasn’t going to work. They never believed that thought pattern but chose to rely on their passion, and beliefs, for what they had imagined would happen if they kept pressing forward. Then a stroke of so-called luck, or a break, would happen that propelled them to their dream. On the outside we would say this was luck or a lucky break, but the one imagining and pressing forward would say they always knew it would happen.
See if you can think of something that you have received in your life that was easy for you. Maybe it’s a new car, house, job, relationship, or whatever. If you can recall those thoughts I can lay out the basic pattern for you. It would start by an idea or desire for something. You would walk that line of wanting it, seeing it, dreaming of it, and feeling it, rather than lusting for it. There is a huge difference! It is something you can want and feel good for rather than needing it so bad it hurts. Every time you thought of it; it would make you feel great. It felt good to imagine having it. It was fun to go there in your imagination and act as though you had it. You would fall asleep just knowing that it was yours and that put you at peace. Then things started lining up that slowly, or rapidly, brought it into your path. That “stroke of luck” or “lucky break” comes that allows you to line up with your big or small dream. You take hold of your prize and never realize how many close factors came into account to bring you your dream! Things just seemed to work out for you to have it.
Life works this way my “friends” in everything that we do. If you would slow down enough to feel these feelings you could line yourself up with whatever you have ever dreamed of! It does happen day after day. You can do it and you have been doing it if you think you have or not. Just listen to You and start to Live First!
